Built for serious devs
Hypex is an agentic IDE made for people who measure progress in shipped code, not in tabs of demoware. No surveillance, no AI tax, no lock-in.
Why Hypex exists
Hypex was started by a solo developer who got tired of choosing between IDEs that lock you into one AI provider and IDEs that hand-wave AI as shallow autocomplete. Neither shipped real code; both took your money.
It began in late 2025 as a personal fork of Code OSS and grew into a serious agentic IDE — multi-model BYOK, a managed credits tier for users who don't want to deal with API keys, native support for Windows kernel and C++ workflows, and a plan/edit/test loop that actually closes pull requests.
It's still small. That's a feature. Decisions ship in hours, the roadmap is driven by Discord conversations, and there is no growth team optimizing dark patterns. Just code, shipped weekly.
What we believe
Five rules that override every other product decision.
Developer sovereignty
Your keys, your models, your code. We hold none of it hostage.
Open by default
Built on Code OSS (MIT). Your settings are yours, exportable, portable.
No dark patterns
No fake scarcity, no negative-option billing, no surprise overage bills.
Speed over ceremony
Every feature ships when it works, not when a committee says so.
Privacy non-negotiable
Telemetry is opt-in. Prompts and code never reach our servers.
Solo, by design
One developer, full ownership of every line of code, every pricing decision, every feature shipped. No investors steering the roadmap, no committees diluting the product. Direct contact with the people using it — most of the roadmap comes from Discord threads and bug reports answered the same day.
