Video walkthrough coming soon.
Hypex is an agentic IDE built on Code OSS. You bring your own API key (or run Ollama locally) and the IDE handles chat, tool use, file edits, inline completions, checkpoints, and cross-device sync (optional).
Start here
- Quickstart — zero to shipping in 5 minutes
- Install Hypex — Windows / macOS / Linux + installer signing notes
- Pick a provider — Anthropic / OpenAI / OpenRouter / Grok / Ollama / Claude Code CLI
Daily driving
- Chat + agent — how turns, tools, approvals, rewind all fit together
- Keyboard shortcuts — every Hypex binding
- Agent profiles — 12 specialized prompts (debugger, refactor, kernel, local-unrestricted…)
- Tools + approval — file ops, shell, web, database + the approval model
- Settings reference — every
hypex.*option
Extend
- Skills — author your own playbooks the agent auto-picks up
- MCP servers — 17-server marketplace + custom server configuration
- Steering rules — per-file-glob prompt layering
- Remote development — SSH, containers, dev containers
Account + billing
- Account + sign-in — magic-link flow, devices, cross-device sync
- Plans + limits — Free / Pro / Team, what counts against the cap
- Privacy — what leaves your machine (spoiler: your prompts and keys never do)
Philosophy in one paragraph
Your API key never leaves your machine. Your prompts and replies never touch our servers. Local Ollama is always unlimited — our plan caps only apply to cross-device sync metadata. An account is entirely optional; you get 100 % of the IDE features for $0 forever in BYOK mode.
